 The Thoseghar is just 20 kms from the Satara city. It is situated at the beginning of Konkan Region. A 1000 feet waterfall makes the village very special. There are thousands of people come from all over Maharashtra to visit this place especially in Rainy season. You will experience the heavy rain fall here.

There is a newly constructed Platform to stand and take a good view of the waterfall. You can enter in the Vally and see where exactly the water falls except the Rainy season (due to heavy rainfall). Do not try adventure here because many people have wasted their lives due to such adventures. This place is full of Natural beauty and pleasant climate to experience this you need to visit Thoseghar in Rainy season.

There are some hotels where you can enjoy a food(especially Non-veg) after enjoying the mighty of water fall. You can bring meet with you and tell the hotel guy to make ready for you. The guy will charge you but will make a delicious food to enjoy with. There is Veg food also for Vegetarian people.

Satara is a historical city with rich heritage. It was the capital of the erstwhile Maratha empire. There are beautiful temples and historical places in the city. Ajinkyatara being the major landmark of the city. Satara also played an important role in the independence movement of the country. Gandmala stands witness to this where 17 peoplelaid there lives in the Sepoy Mutiny of 1857. Ajinkyatara Fort was built by Raja Bhoj. There are 17 doors to the fort with “Buruj”. In the north of the fort a beautiful temple of Goddess Mangalai Devi is located. The city is situated around the fort. 

There are many ancient temples in the city like the Krishneshwar temple, Gare Ganpati, Abhayankar Vishnu mandir, Bhairoba temple in Karanja, Bhavani Mata Mandir, Shiva temple near Kanharwada and the famous Dholya Ganpati which is also the village deity. 

Among newly built temples the Chidambaram temple is the most famous one. It is the replica of the famous temple of Lord Chidambaram situated in the southern state of Tamil Nadu. There are many lakes inthe city like the Mangarwar lake, Moti lake, Phutke lake, Sakhar lake, Hatti lake, Mandare lake to name a few. On the way to Sajjangarh abeautiful temple of Lord Ganapati is situated. Kurneshwar, Datta and Hanuman templea are also in this premises.
